LANDI KOTAL: Campaign against measles launched

By Our Correspondent

LANDI KOTAL, Nov 12: The Fata Health Directorate on Monday launched a two-week campaign against measles in the Khyber Agency, officials said. About 198 teams under the supervision of 52 health supervisors have been constituted.

The head of the campaign, Dr Sher Khan Afridi, said that about 300,000 children between the ages of nine months and 13 years would be immunised against the deadly disease during the campaign.

He said measles was as dangerous as polio and urged parents to cooperate with health teams during the campaign. He said health teams would also be dispatched to far flung areas such as Tirah and Loe Shalman to cover maximum number of children.
