HYDERABAD, Nov 12: District Nazim Hyderabad, Kanwar Naveed Jamil here on Saturday inaugurated two new roads at Gaushala constructed at a cost of Rs4 million. He said it was extremely important to lay a network of sewers before construction of roads and added that an amount of one billion rupees was being spent on sewerage lines and new pumping stations.

He said construction of asphalt roads was not a difficult task but it would be criminal to overlook basic problem of the collapse of sewerage system. He said naturally such a gigantic task takes time and therefore the district government was made the target for delaying construction of roads.

He said same critics now concede lying of sewers before construction of roads was a correct decision. He said in 22 months, a large number of roads had been converted into asphalt concrete, sewerage system modernised and all complaints about shortage of drinking water redressed.
