LAHORE, Oct 20: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is spending Rs3 million on provision of free drinking water during the ongoing one-day series between Pakistan and South Africa, the first ever gesture shown for the spectators’ comfort.

“We have provided free drinking water inside the Gaddafi Stadium during the first two One-day Internationals and the facility will also be provided in Karachi where the last match of the series will be played on Oct 29,” said Nadeem Akram, Director Human Resources, PCB here on Saturday.

He added that the water facility was being provided in the stadiums where there was no proper water supply system at various enclosures.

“At Faisalabad and Multan we have proper water supply system, whereas in Lahore and Karachi we do not have such a system, that is why we have taken this measure,” he said, adding, “The PCB is spending Rs1.8 million while Pepsi is sharing Rs1.2 million on the directive of the board Chairman Dr Nasim Ashraf.”—APP
