HYDERABAD, Oct 18: District nazim Hyderabad Kanwar Naveed Jamil has directed the consultants, contractors and the officials concerned of the district government to accelerate the pace of work of all the development schemes which had come to a halt due to Eid holidays to provide maximum relief to the citizens within minimum period.

He was speaking to them at his secretariat here on Wednesday.

He said in addition to the ongoing development schemes at a cost of billions of rupees, other development schemes will also be initiated soon. He said these schemes will also include the construction of infrastructure outside the city.

In order to resolve the mounting traffic problems, he said, three new flyovers besides Latifabad flyover will be constructed. He expressed the hope that with the construction of these projects, the traffic problems will be lessened for the next 20 to 25 years.

Kanwar Naveed Jamil said that after the completion of important roads in all the union councils of the district, work has already been initiated on the construction of link roads, lanes and streets to save the people from any inconvenience during the rainy season.

UC nazims, officials of the district government and leaders of NGOs met with the nazim to offer Eid greetings.

PRESS CONFERENCE: Mau-lana Shabbir Ahmed, resident of Millat-i-Islamia, Pathan colony Hyderabad has appealed to the authorities to order the recovery of his two sons, Imran and Ayoub, who were allegedly held incommunicado by the Market police.

He was speaking at a news conference along with his brother Bashir Ahmed and other family members at the press club here on Wednesday.

He alleged that on Tuesday-Wednesday night, some policemen of the Market police station raided his house, manhandled his family members, destroyed different items in his adjoining shop and took away mobile phones worth over Rs50,000.

He said when he went to Market police station to lodge an FIR against police, his two sons were taken into custody. He said his sons were being held incommunicado and expressed fear for their lives.

He claimed that his only fault was that sometime back, he had given his shop on rent to a friend of a constable, Ishtiaque, where they started indulging in vices and on the complaint of the people of the locality, he gave them a notice to vacate the shop.

He said the policeman got annoyed and with others policemen and their friends, ransacked his shop, manhandled his family members and arrested his two sons.

He appealed to the authorities to order the recovery of his sons.

TEACHERS INTERVIEWS: EDO education Hyderabad, Prof Mohammad Anwar Siddiqui here on Thursday announced the schedule of interviews for the posts of primary school teachers and junior school teachers, both male and female candidates.

For the candidates of rural taluka Hyderabad, the interviews of male candidates would be held from Oct 20 to 23 at the office of Assistant District Officer (E) and for female candidates the interviews will be conducted at the same office on Oct 24.

For Qasimabad taluka, the interviews of male candidates will be conducted at the office of ADO (E) Female Qasimabad on Oct 20 and of female candidates on Oct 21 at the same office. Separate interview committees comprising five members each have been constituted.

JUNIOR SCHOOL TEACHERS: The interviews of male candidates of city taluka Hyderabad will be conducted on Oct 22 and Oct 23 at the office of ADO (E) Hirabad while the interviews of female candidates will be conducted on Oct 24 and Oct 25 at the same office.

For the candidates of Latifabad talukas, the interviews of male candidates will be conducted on Oct 22 and Oct 23 at the office of ADO (E) female Latifabad unit No.6 and of female candidates on October 24 and October 25 at the same office.

For Qasimabad taluka, the interviews of male candidates will be conducted on Oct 22 at the office of ADO (E) Female Qasim-abad and of female candidates on October 23 at the same office.

The interviews of male candidates of rural taluka Hyderabad will be conducted on October 25 and of female candidates on October 26 at the office of ADO (E) female near City Gate hotel Hyderabad. The candidates have been advised to bring their original documents, NIC and admit cards.
