Imran calls on V.P. Singh
NEW DELHI, Oct 13: Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaf chairman Imran Khan called on former Indian prime minister V.P. Singh and discussed his work he has been doing for the poor.
“We discussed problems of poor and neglected sections of society, in the subcontinent,” Vishwanath Pratap Singh said on Saturday. Mr Khan was concerned about the sufferings of the poor and in so far as politics comes into play when such issues are taken up, he said.
“We agreed that the problems of the poor remain the same in entire subcontinent be it India, Pakistan or Bangaldesh. Society in all these states is highly hierarchical which will naturally lead to monopoly.
And monopoly is antithetical to democracy, I told Imran saheb,” said Singh. Mr Khan is in New Delhi to attend a leadership summit arranged by Hindustan Times.—PPI
