KARACHI : Jobless man commits suicide

KARACHI, Oct 12: A 28-year-old man committed suicide in the Mochkoh area on Friday.

Police said the body of Abdullah, son of Allah Bukhsh, was found hanging from a tree near Abidabad. They said the jobless man was living with his elder brother, Farooq.

Police said the victim’s family took the body to their hometown in the interior of Sindh.

Killed in accident

A 22-year-old man was knocked down by a hit-and-run vehicle in Sharafi Goth.

His body was shifted to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre, where he was identified as Mohammed Umer Farooq.

Police said the man was going to his Quaidabad residence from his factory in Korangi Industrial Area around midnight when he was hit and killed by an unknown vehicle.

Police have registered a case against the unknown reckless driver on the complaint of the victim’s brother, Ehsaanul Haq.

Rs1m looted

Unknown occupants of a car looted Rs1 million from a motorcyclist near Islamia College.

Jamshed Quarter police said the victim was injured and shifted to the Jinnah Hospital, where he went unconscious after telling the medico-legal officer that a car hit his motorcycle and its occupants took away his money.

The police said the man, identified as Siraj, was still unconscious and the police officer who had gone to the hospital returned without recording his statement.
