KARACHI, Sept 30: Demonstrating yet another awesome performance, the four-year-old chestnut colt Quince stormed to a facile six lengths victory to complete a hat-trick in the Gymkhana race meeting at the Karachi Racecourse on Sunday.
It was an eventful day as Dawn’s aspirants swept all but one race in a card of eight which provided relief to the race-goers who mostly remain at the receiving end.

The only exception was the mare Mixed Blessing who could not take off and remained stalled at the starting gate.
With two wins under his belt, odds-on-favourite Quince lived up to his reputation when he edged past colt Red Rufus with M. Nasir astride to present owner Pir Pagara with a winner.

Filly Hi Darling and colt Shiracco complete the frame in same order as the field was reduced to 12 following withdrawls of debutant Legend Killer and filly Leopard Of Arab.

Quince’s stablemate fillies Sweetie Pie and Sugar Sweet also reigned supreme as owner returned with a treble.
After 10 dismal runs, Sweetie Pie overcame the bad patch by posting eight lengths victory under rider Zaki Zakir while Sugar Sweet galloped to ten-and-a-half lengths triumph with Ghulam Shabbir II aboard.

Four-year-old chestnut colt Reyan King made it two-in-a-row outpacing Tharkyee by two-and-a-half lengths to land the feature event.

Similarly, Ismail Shah’s mare Closing Argument repeated her winning feat beating colt Vice Admiral in a thrilling fashion. The win enabled jockey Shabbir to came out with a brace of winners.

Favourite Jaguar made amends to land the opener while Daruwala picked up spoils in the next race.

Backed by connection after finishing off the board on the previous three occasions, Eager Saint surprised the pundits when he was home by 11 lengths.

Trainer M. Aslam Khan had three winners while Ehtisham and Allah Judrio had two apiece.

The next Gymkhana race meeting will be held on Wednesday.
