SAHIWAL, Sept 30: The Anti-Corruption
Establishment (ACE) has arrested two court officials for preparing a fake
release order of three jailed accused. The ACE earlier arrested two people
wanted in the case.
One accused stenographer of the court is at large along with the three accused
who were released through the fake orders.
Main Market police arrested Nadeem, Latif and Akbar on April 4 for running a
distillery and confiscated 1,064 bottles of distilled wine from them. The three
were sent to the central jail.
The accused filed their bail petitions which were rejected by the court. The
accused later bribed the employees of the court who processed their fake release
orders and got them released from the jail on Aug 13.
When Judicial Magistrate Mazhar Farid saw his fake signatures on the release
orders, he got a case registered with the ACE against the accused.
The ACE arrested court clerk Abid Hussain and bar clerk Nisar Ahmed, court
reader Muhammad Idrees and naib court constable Muhammad Tufail and managed
their physical remand till Oct 2. Stenographer Muhammad Mansha and the three
accused who managed their release on the fake orders are still at large..
