HYDERABAD: President’s re-election bid slammed

Bureau Report

HYDERABAD, Sept 30: Awami Tehrik chief Rasool Bux Palijo has alleged that Gen Pervez Musharraf wants to again become president of the country to complete the unfinished agenda of his imperialists.

He was speaking at an educational workshop organised by the Sindhi Hari Tehrik in Paban in the outskirts of Hyderabad on Saturday.

Mr Palijo said that the imperialist agenda had spread a cancer in the civil society. He said that it was an irony that ever since the creation of Pakistan, undemocratic forces had ruled the country under the patronage of imperialist forces and trampled the constitution. He said that democratic institutions had been destroyed and Gen Musharraf was ruling the country with a stick in his hand. He said that the police attack on lawyers and journalists in Islamabad was nothing short of terrorism and it should be condemned by all. He said that the activists of Awami Tehrik would participate in the ongoing protest against the government.

Speaking on “Human evolution and scientific development” Ayaz Latif Palijo said that development in science and technology had taken tens of thousands of years to reach its peak and added that human being had come a long way from the stone and bronze ages.
