JWP chief warns of tribal war if MPs do not resign

By Our Staff Correspondent

QUETTA, Sept 29: Nawabzada Talal Akbar Bugti, the chief of his own faction of Jamhoori Watan Party (JWP), has warned MPAs and MNA elected on his party tickets of a tribal war if they did not resign from the national and provincial assemblies.

Talking to newsmen on Saturday, he said he had sent a delegation of party leaders and tribal elders of Bugti tribe to convince JWP legislators for tendering their resignations from the assemblies according to the party decision. “If they would not resign and would support Gen Pervez Musharraf in the presidential election, a tribal war cannot be ruled out,” Mr Talal added.

He said that the JWP would not allow the legislators elected on the party ticket to support a military dictator.

The JWP chief condemned police crackdown against lawyers and media men in Islamabad. He criticised the government for using force against the protesters.
