MULTAN, Sept 28: Governor Khalid Maqbool is scheduled to lay the foundation stone of the Bahauddin Zakariya University’s sub-campus in Dera Ghazi Khan today (Saturday).

BZU vice-chancellor Dr Muhammad Zafarullah said on Friday the institute had acquired 100 acres for the sub-campus. The campus was launched in 2004 and classes of MBA, BBA and MIS were conducted in the building of the local Degree College.

He said the Higher Education Commission had provided Rs40 million for the land. He said the BZU sub-campus would attain the status of university in the light of President Gen Pervez Musharraf’s announcement that a full-fledged university and medical college would be set up in the district.
