Karachi Port operations

KARACHI, Sept 28: Four ships carrying lube oil, mogas and to load cement and molasses are due to arrive at the outer anchorage on Saturday, according to KPT sources.

Berthing activity at the wharves was slow where only two ships, Y.M. Fortune to unload and load containers and Aegean Tiger to offload crude oil were berthed after the departure of five.

The departed ships were led by Hyundai Stride, Lucky Arrow, Kota Hakim, Dimitris-7 and Ocean Lord while Pontokartis, Y.M. Fortune and Aegean Tiger are due to sail out on Saturday.

A total tonnage of 95,744 tons comprising 17,394 tons of export cargo including 3,653 tons of cement and 78,350 tons of import tonnage was handled.

The following ships are due on Saturday: Golden Arrow to load 30,000 tons of cement, El Esr with 2,000 tons of lube oil, Al-Farabi to load 11,600 tons of molasses and A. Dragon with 18,000 tons of mogas.

Port Qasim

KARACHI, Sept 28: Two ships carrying containers and fertiliser were accommodated berths during the last 24 hours, said a PQA press release on Friday.

Meanwhile two more ships with containers and iron ore also arrived at the outer anchorage. A total of eight ships, Al-Mariyah, Powerful, Vilet, Spar Emerald, Stolt Avenir, Liquid Success, Vema Ocean and Multan, were busy in containers, rapeseeds, edible oil, fertiliser, furnace, chemicals and iron ore.

A cargo volume of 58,251 tons comprising 46,181 tons of import and 12,070 tons of export tonnage was handled. Sailings were active as Liquid Success and Powerful left the port.
