KARACHI, Sept 27: Six ships carrying jet oil and lube oil and to load molasses are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Friday, according to KPT sources.

Berthing activity at the wharves was fairly active where 10 ships were berthed as under: Hyundai Stride, Kuo Cheng, Kota Hakim, Dimitris-7, Kapitan Byankin and Augusta to unload and load containers, Hanin to load cement, Ocean Lord to offload steel coils and Hyderabad to offload general cargo.Four ships, Harmony, Kapitan Byankin, Augusta and APL Brisbane departed on Thursday, while Kota Hakim, Dimirtis, Lucky Arrow, Hyundai Stride, Ocean Lord, Pacific Express, Ponto Kratis, Al-Naseer and Kuo Cheng are due to sail out on Friday.

A total tonnage of 73,683 tons comprising 21,961 tons of export cargo and 51,722 tons of import tonnage was handled on Thursday.

The following ships are due on Friday: Al-Farabi to load 11,600 tons of molasses, Mandalay with jet oil, El-Esr with lube oil, Eric G. Gibson and Ole Trust with containers and Aetos with DAP fertiliser.

Port Qasim

KARACHI, Sept 27: Four ships carrying containers, edible oil, furnace oil and chemicals were accommodated berths during the last 24 hours, said a PQA press release on Thursday.

In the meantime two more ships with containers and fertilisers also arrived at the outer anchorage.

Nine ships, CMA CGM Aegean, Nedlloyd Africa, ACX Mimosa, Powerful, Violet, Stolt Avenir, Liquied Success, Vema Ocean and Multan, were busy in loading and unloading containers, rape seeds, edible oil, furnace, chemicals and iron ore.

A cargo volume of 113,933 tons comprising 87,960 tons of import and 24973 tons of export tonnage was handled.

Sailing was slow as only one ship, Mimosa, left the port while Liquied Success and Powerful were due to depart.
