KARACHI, Sept 26: Four ships carrying DAP fertiliser, containers and crude oil are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Thursday, according to KPT sources.

Berthing activity at the wharves was on the higher side where five ships, APL Brisbane, Harmony and Oel Spirit to unload and load containers, Lucky Arrow to load cement and Ayferka for repairs were berthed after the departure of eight.

The ships, which departed were led by Chemstar Brave, Iran Tabatabaei, Global Prosperity, Conti Harmony, Sea Princess, Cosco Lian Yun Gang, Mol Admiration and Jiao Cheng, while Augusta and APL Brisbane are due to sail out on Thursday.

A total tonnage of 65,166 tons comprising 23,037 tons of export cargo including 3,869 tons of cement and 42,129 tons of import tonnage was handled on Wednesday.

The following ships are due on Thursday: Swat with crude oil, Y.M. Fortune, Eric G. Gibson with containers and Aetos with 41,105 tons of DAP fertiliser.

Port Qasim

KARACHI, Sept 26: Three ships carrying containers, LPG and iron ore were accommodated berths during the last 24 hours, said a PQA press release on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, two more ships with chemicals and furnace oil also arrived at the outer anchorage.

Berth occupancy was maintained at 80 per cent as eight ships, CMA CGM Aegean, Nedlloyd Africa, Powerful, Violet, Team Al-Emirates, Sigas Silvia, Keefan and Multan, were busy in loading and unloading containers, rapeseeds, edible oil, diesel oil, LPG and iron ore.

A cargo of 76,349 tons comprising 56,935 tons of import and 19,414 tons of export tonnage was handled.

Sailing was active as Team Al Emirates, Keefan, Oriental Miho and Sigas Silvia left the port while Nedlloyd Africa was due to depart.
