KARACHI: Oil, ghee stocks sealed

KARACHI, Sept 20: A vigilance team of the Pakistan Standards and Quality Control Authority sealed oil and ghee stocks manufactured by M/s Shaikh Oil Mills, located in the Korangi Industrial Area, according to a PSQCA press release issued here on Thursday.

It said that the action had been taken under the relevant clause of the PSQCA Act-VI of 1996 and the Pakistan Standards PS:221-2003 and PS:2858-2003 pertaining to violation of the prescribed standards for storage, manufacturing and sale of edible oil.

The vigilance team visited the mills under the supervision of the Authority’s director conformity assessment.

PSQA deputy director (CA) and consumer liaison officer also accompanied the team, which also visited M/s Farooque Oil Mills. The team found that the prescribed procedures were violated by M/s Shaikh Oil Mills.
