KARACHI, Sept 16: A swashbuckling 88 by Daniyal Ahsan led KESC XI to an emphatic 59-run victory over debutants Eaton CC in the 22nd Karachi Gymkhana Tapal Trophy Ramazan Cricket Festival at the KG Ground on Sunday.

Man-of-the-Match Daniyal struck seven fours and two sixes in his 52-ball knock as KESC XI reached 188 for four. Veteran all-rounder Arif Mahmood blasted three sixes and two fours in a 33-ball 44 and together with Daniyal put on 82 for the fourth wicket.

Eaton CC, in reply, managed only 129 for nine with Faraz Patel (49 not out off 42 balls, four fours) the top-scorer.

Off-spinner Tahir Khan grabbed three for 23 while Arif and Fareed Zafar took two wickets apiece.
