ALGIERS, Sept 15: Algeria said on Saturday that it had reached agreement with Spain over the amount of gas its energy company Sonatrach could sell through a new pipeline.Energy and Mines Minister Chakib Khelil confirmed a decision by Madrid to allow Sonatrach sell more than one million cubic metres through the Medgaz pipeline.
“There is no more problem on Medgaz,” Khelil told state radio. “On July 19 we reached an agreement with the Spanish authorities, who reconsidered their previous decisions.” It was the first comment by the Algerian government on the move, which was first mentioned by Spain in late July.—Reuters
