CNG technical training institute to be set up

By Our Reporter

RAWALPINDI, Sept 12: All Pakistan CNG Association in collaboration with Punjab government will establish ‘CNG Technical Training Institute’ in Rawalpindi to train workers in handling CNG-related equipment.

Since there is no such institution in the country to train the people working in CNG sector, all gas outlets in the country are handled by under-trained staff which poses serious risks.

Acting Chairman All Pakistan CNG Association Capt (retired) Raja Shuja Anwar, in a statement, said the training institute would impart technical knowledge to CNG workers about how to deal with various gas equipment, including filling dispensers and storing gas in cylinders.

He said gas outlets had mushroomed across the country but the industry lacked skilled workforce which, he said, could not guarantee safety measures at CNG stations.
