KHAIRPUR : 33,000 watercourses being lined in Sindh

KHAIRPUR, Sept 8: Lining of 86,000 watercourses at a cost of Rs66 billion under the National Programme for Improvement of Watercourses was in progress and some 33,000 watercourses are being lined in Sindh under this programme.

This was stated by Lieutenant General (retd) Mohammad Zubair, member implementation and monitoring, Planning Commission of Pakistan, while speaking at an inaugural ceremony of the watercourse 1-AR on Faiz Bux wah here on Saturday.

He said out of 3,000 watercourses in Khairpur district under the NPIW programme, some 1,200 have been constructed.

He added that officials should pay more attention to this target.
