KARACHI, Sept 7: Sindh Adviser on Home Affairs Waseem Akhtar has said that reporting centres in 80 police stations of the city have already been established with the cooperation of philanthropists and efforts are under way to set up such centres in the remaining police stations.
Speaking as chief guest at the inauguration of a model public reporting centre at the Artillery Maidan police station on Friday, he pointed out that these reporting centres provided one-window operation, adding that the scope of the plan would be extended to the entire province.
The adviser noted that purpose of this plan was to bring an end to the “thana culture” and create a people-friendly atmosphere at police stations.
Sindh IG Ziaul Hasan, CCPO Azhar Ali Farooqi, DIG South Javed Bukhari, Saddar TPO Tahir Naveed and other senior police officials were present on the occasion.—APP
