KARACHI, Sept 7: Brisk shipping activity was witnessed at the port where four ships to load, unload containers and diesel oil were accommodated on berths at QICT and Fotco terminal, respectively, during the last 24 hours, says a PQA press release.

Meanwhile, there more ships carrying furnace oil, edible oil, and general cargo arrived at the outer anchorage during the same period.

Berth occupancy was maintained at 60pc at the port where seven ships occupied berths to load, unload containers, cement, coal and diesel, respectively, during the period under review.

The port handled 91,363 tons of cargo comprising 76,753 tons imports and 14,610 tons of exports inclusive of containerised cargo carried in 1,831 containers during the report period.

Two ships sailed out to the sea during the last 24 hours.
