‘Third term for premiership hinders deal’

ISLAMABAD, Aug 31: Federal Railway Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmad said on Friday that the issue of removal of bar on a person holding the post of prime minister for a third time had turned out to be an obstacle in the negotiations between the government and the Pakistan People’s Party.

Talking to a private TV channel, the minister said that if matters were not settled till Monday, the situation could take a different turn.

He said matters were going all right until 3pm on Thursday but the situation had changed later.

Referring to Chaudhry Shujaat’s remarks that only nine per cent of the issues had been settled, he said it meant that the situation was back to zero.—APP
