KARACHI: Information dept warns publishers, printers

KARACHI, Aug 30: The Sindh Information Department (SID) has taken notice of the fact that some publishers are not submitting gratis copies of newspapers, periodicals and books published by them, which is a violation of the Press, Newspapers and Books Registration Ordinance, 2002. The department asked all such publishers to submit gratis copies of their publications with the director information (press section), failing which strict legal action could be taken against them, including forfeiture of their publications under the provisions of the Press Ordinance.

Meanwhile, all the owners who are operating printing presses without any declarations were told to obtain the same from the district coordination officer of their respective area.—APP
