LAHORE, Aug 29: The Jamiat Ulema-i-Pakistan (JUP) has decided to observe Friday (tomorrow) as a protest day in condemnation of the blasphemous caricatures now published in Sweden.

JUP secretary-general Qari Zawwar Bahadur appealed to religious scholars and prayer leaders to apprise the faithful of the offensive publications once again in a European country.

He said the West kept on making one mischief or the other to provoke the Muslim world in general and Pakistani people in particular. It seemed that the West was making a deliberate attempt to invite a conflict with the Muslims around the world for the motive of targeting Islamic countries to strengthen its global economic control.

The JUP leader also demanded of the Organisation of Islamic Conference (OIC) to convene an emergency meeting to discuss the latest western monkey business.
