KARACHI, Aug 29: Sindh Minister for Labour, Transport, Commerce and Industries Mohammad Adil Siddiqui has said information technology is inevitable for economic development.

He stated this while speaking on a report on computer literacy at the Sindh Employees’ Social Security Institute on Wednesday.

“In the past, we talked about literacy and now we should include ‘technological literacy’ in it,” he said, adding that it was necessary to have know-how of the technological needs of the 21st century.

The minister stressed acquiring computer education to meet social and educational needs. “The government is taking all-out measures to promote IT by opening IT centres throughout the province,” he said.—PPI
