Port Qasim

KARACHI, Aug 27: Four ships carrying containers, rapeseeds, diesel oil and chemicals were accommodated berths during the last 24 hours, said a PQA press release on Monday.

Meanwhile, three more ships with containers and chemicals also arrived at the outer anchorage.

Berth occupancy was managed at 80pc as nine ships, Finland, CMA CGM Rose, Pacheco, Sinai, Arctic Voyager, Venus-7, Keefan, Yanaseni and Iguana-a, were busy in loading and unloading containers, rapeseeds, edible oil, diesel oil, chemicals and coal.

A cargo volume of 91,720 tons comprising 67,801 tons of import and 23,919 tons of export tonnage was handled.

Sailing activity was slow as only Venus-7 left the port while Keefan was expected to depart.
