MULTAN, Aug 25: Pakistan Muslim Leage President Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain on Saturday said that the government was in contact with the PPP and some other parties over the formation of the next government and the situation would be clear in the next seven to 10 days.

“We are ready for unconditional talks with the Pakistan Muslim Leage-N as well,” he said, while talking to newsmen at the Multan airport on his way, along with Federal Information Minister Mohammad Ali Durrani and National Assembly Speaker Chaudhry Ameer Gillani, to the Makhdoom Rasheed village to condole the death of Mukhtar Hashmi, the younger brother of PML-N acting president Javed Hashmi.

Chaudhry Shujaat said that a national reconciliatory committee headed by the National Assembly Speaker had been formed to discuss the forthcoming general elections.

“If lawyers and judges can unite for their cause, why cannot politicians come together,” the Pakistan Muslim Leage leader said.

About the presidential election, he said it would be accordance with the Constitution.

He ruled out the possibility of imposition of martial law in the country, saying that national and provincial assemblies would complete their tenure and things would move ahead in accordance with the constitution.

Information Minister Mohammad Ali Durrani said that the government would consider all possible options and decide its strategy upon the return of Sharifs to the country.
