Aamir to clash with Azlan in squash final

ISLAMABAD, Aug 20: Local hero Aamir Atlas ousted top-seed Ong Beng Hee of Malaysia 3-1 to book a place in the final of the Chief of the Air Staff International squash championship at the Mushaf Squash Complex on Monday.

World no.29 Aamir Atlas overcame the world no.18 Malaysian with 11-5, 11-7, 8-11, 11-6 score.

In the final of the US$25,000 championship on Tuesday, Aamir will clash with another Malaysian Azlan Iskander, who knocked out Pakistan’s Yasir Butt 3-2 in the first semi-final.

Azlan limped off the court with a swollen finger in his right foot after beating Yasir Butt 7-11, 8-11, 11-8, 11-1, 11-8 in 68 minutes, leaving doubts if he would participate in the final.—APP
