Dacoit killed

A dacoit was killed while his two accomplices fled when a shopkeeper opened fire in what police descried as self- defence.

Police said three armed men barged into a gift shop in Block-3, Gulshan-i-Iqbal. As they tried to make the occupants hostage at gunpoint, the shopkeeper took out his 9mm pistol and opened fire. One of the suspects was shot dead while others fled. Police said the dacoit could not have been identified immediately.
