Women robbed of cash, gold

LAHORE, Aug 12: Two armed men deprived four women of cash, foreign currency, jewellery, a car and other valuables worth over Rs800,000 in Liaqatabad on Sunday morning.

Imran Raza, an employee of Dawn, said his wife and three other women relatives were travelling in his car (LZN-778) to the Lahore airport from a hotel on Maulana Shaukat Ali Road. When they reached Peco Road at around 7:30am, two robbers riding a Suzuki car, stopped them at gunpoint and snatched cash, jewellery, foreign currency notes, five cell phones and a bag containing toys.

Imran said the robbers after leaving their own car there, snatched his car from the women and fled.
