KARACHI, Aug 12: A union council nazim of Lyari Town has not been attending his office for more than a week because of fears for his safety.
Presently, he has confined himself to his residence.
A few days ago, some anti-social elements had attacked his office and threatened him of dire consequences if he did not “mend his ways.”
Abdul Majeed Baloch, Nazim of UC-6 Shah Beg Lane and Kalri, belongs to the Awam Dost group. He had written several letters to the higher authorities about the activities of criminal elements in his area and following that, he started receiving threats from these elements. His family says that due to uncertain conditions even his children are refusing to attend school.
