KARACHI: Ex-secretary joins PPP

By Our Staff Reporter

KARACHI, Aug 7: Former provincial health secretary A.R. Bughio has announced his decision to join the Pakistan People’s Party along with his son and brother. He made this announcement at a press conference in the presence of leader of the opposition in the Sindh Assembly Nisar Ahmed Khuhro at his chamber on Tuesday.

Welcoming Mr Bughio’s decision, Mr Khuhro said the government was perturbed over the popularity of the PPP and had started victimising its political opponents by adopting coercive measures.

He also condemned the government for retrenching 52 consultant doctors. He said that the Punjab and Azad Kashmir governments had made consultant doctors permanent, while the Sindh government was removing them. He argued that there should be one law in the country for all citizens.

Also present in the press conference were former federal minister Zafar Leghari, PPP leaders and MPAs Syed Imdad Shah, Rafiq Engineer, Rashid Rabbani and Saeed Ghani besides Ali Akbar Bughio and Faisal Bugio.
