KARACHI, Aug 7: Vice-Chairman of the Karachi Water and Sewerage Board Mohammad Moin Khan said on Tuesday that the provision of 60-mgd water to Lyari Town shows the sincere efforts of the board to resolve water issues in the area.

He said this during a surprise visit to inspect the Lyari water supply project. He was accompanied by Lyari Town Nazim Malik Fayyaz.

The town nazim informed the KWSB vice-chairman about the problems regarding water supply.

Moin Khan directed the officials and staff to complete line connections within two days and test all leakages.

Briefing the vice-chairman, the chief engineer said water-related complaints in all union councils of the town would be addressed after the Rs250 million water supply project was completed.

He said people of Lyari’s tail-end areas would get water on a regular basis after 50 years.—PPI
