Man shot dead

LAHORE, Aug 5: A 35-year-old man was allegedly shot dead at Charrar village in Defence on Sunday. Police said Rana Arshad was returning home after closing his medical store when some unidentified people opened fire on him near his house.

He was rushed to hospital where he was pronounced dead. The reason for the killing could not be ascertained.

The police shifted the body for autopsy and registered a case on the complaint of Arshad’s brother Rana Iftikhar.

ACCIDENT: A seven-year-old girl was crushed to death in front of her parents’ eyes by a speeding tractor trolley on Raiwind Road on Sunday.

The Edhi officials said Munazza, daughter of Anwer of Green Town, was crossing the road along with her parents when the tractor trolley (KSB-4651) ran her over, killing her on the spot.

Driver managed his escape after leaving the vehicle.

In another incident, a 15-year-old motorcycle mechanic was knocked down and killed by a speeding coaster in Guldasht Town police check post limits on Sunday.

The Edhi officials said Bilal Hussain Shah was riding a bike when a speeding coaster hit him, killing him on the spot.

INJURED: A dacoit shot at and injured a citizen on offering resistance in front of Doctor’s Hospital in Jauhar Town on Sunday.

Reports said Younas Masih was coming from Sargodha to Lahore on his car when an armed man tried to snatch his vehicle. On offering resistance, the robber shot at him and escaped without snatching his car.
