Steel standards


KARACHI, Aug 4: The steel industry has flayed the campaign launched by Pakistan Standards and Quality Control Authority (PSQCA) in the newspapers for not obtaining a licence for manufacturing of steel bars used in concrete re-enforcement.

Abbas Akberali, chief executive of Amreli Steels said in a statement that his company had applied for a license as far back as 2002 and paid the required fee also but to-date no certificate has been issued.
