KARACHI, Aug 2: The district and sessions judge, South, Zaheer Ahmed S. Leghari, on Thursday awarded five years’ rigorous imprisonment to an accused for raping a boy.

According to the prosecution, 15-year-old victim Jehanzeb belongs to a poor family. His mother, Perveen, wife of Shamrez, worked in the house of the accused. Jehanzeb accompanied his mother to the house of Saeed Khan on Nov 20, 2006, who raped the victim.

On the complaint of the boy’s mother, the Defence police registered an FIR (473/06) under Section 377 of the Pakistan Penal Code.

The court also imposed a fine of Rs20,000 on the accused, and in case of non-payment, he will have to undergo an additional six-month imprisonment.
