PESHAWAR, Aug 1: NWFP Governor Ali Mohammad Jan Aurakzai on Wednesday gave Rs300,000 to the Hangu District Bar Association and Rs200,000 to Kohat’s Anjuman-i-Taraqqi-i-Urdu.

The governor gave a cheque for Rs300,000 to Hangu District Bar Association president Shabbir Khan for buying books for and renovating the bar.

Mr Shabbir, leading a three-member delegation of office-bearers of the bar, called on Mr Aurakzai at the Governor’s House.

The governor gave a cheque of Rs200,000 to Shahid Zaman, secretary-general of the Anjuman-i-Taraqqi-i-Urdu, Kohat, to help the organisation in its efforts for promoting literary activities in the city.

Mr Zaman’s delegation, comprising MPA from Kohat Syed Qalb-i-Hassan, former Hangu district nazim Pir Haider Shah and others, met the governor.—APP
