KARACHI, Aug 1: Over a dozen ships carrying DAP fertiliser, rock phosphate and to load molasses and cement are due at the outer anchorage on Thursday, according to KPP sources.

Berthing activity at the wharves was modest where four ships, China Star, Harmony and APL Brisbane to unload and load containers and Sun Flower to load ethanol were berthed after the departure of eight.

The ships which departed included Swat, Gagar Mayang, Global Prosperity, Harmony, Corin Thaikos, MOL Ability and Stentor, while Sun Flower, APL Brisbane, Huammer Yagci, China Star and Xiang Cheng are due to sail out on Thursday.

A total tonnage of 0.108m tons comprising 22,568 tons of export cargo and 85,624 tons of import tonnage was handled on Wednesday.

The following ships are due on Thursday: Peonia to load 15,000 tons of molasses, Chem Rose to load 3,300 tons of ethanol, Kuo Chang, Gulf Bridge, Dolores, Oel Spirit, Eric G. Gibson and Scotland, with containers, Nava Eliza with 33,000 tons of DAP fertiliser, Namrun with 40,828 tons of rock phosphate, Carla and Sea Princess to load 4,800 and 18,000 tons of cement and Al-Fiya with general cargo.
