HYDERABAD: Private schools run away with all top positions

HYDERABAD, July 20: The students of private schools outclassed their counterparts in government schools by sweeping away all the top positions in the science group of the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) Part-II (class-X) annual examination 2007, according to result announced on Friday.

The controller of examinations of the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Hyderabad declared the result. He said that among the boys, Syed Yasum Ali Jafri, son of Syed Mazhar Abbas Jafri, of Latif Niazi Memorial High School secured first position by obtaining 796 marks while Rahat Ahmed Memon, son of Dr Manzoor Ahmed Memon, of Beacon House Public School System bagged second position by securing 774 marks.

The third position was shared by Shahzad Ali, son of Mohammad Haroon, of Darul Uloom High School Tando Mohammad Khan and Rashid Ahmed, son of Rasheed Ahmed, of Public School Hyderabad, after getting 773 marks.

Anum Fatima Shah, daughter of Syed Khursheed Ahmed Shah, of Royal Grammar High School Latifabad No.3 and Qandeel Durrani, daughter of Mohammad Ayoub Khan Durani, of Beacon House Public School System Qasimabad shared the first position by obtaining 791 marks.

The second position was bagged by Noorul Huda Noor, daughter of Noor Mohammad, of Rahim Public High School near Bilawal Park Badin while the third position was shared by Kainat Khan Niazi, daughter of Abdul Waheed Khan, of Pak Cal School Auto Bahn Road Latifabad and Sobia, daughter of Dr Salahuddin Shaikh, of Hayat Girls Higher Secondary School Hyderabad, both of whom obtained 780 marks.

The controller said that a total of 41,036 candidates appeared in the examination out of whom 34,679 passed.
