HYDERABAD, July 12: A man shaved his wife’s head suspecting her of having illicit relations with someone else in Tando Mohammad Khan on Thursday. He fled the house after the shaving act but was soon nabbed by police.

Reports reaching here said that one Gul Mallah subjected his wife, Noori, to head shave. Neighbours gathered outside the house after hearing Ms Noori’s cries but nobody intervened.

Ms Noori later lodged an FIR at Tando Mohammad Khan police station and police succeeded in nabbing her husband after conducting raids on several places.

Ms Noori told journalists that her husband was an addict and was pressuring her to have illicit relations with other men.

He had accused her of being a kari and shaved her head as punishment, she said.

But Mr Mallah insisted before the press that his wife was a kari and he shaved her head to save honour.
