KARACHI, July 12: Accountability Court I Judge Aale Maqbool Rizvi on Thursday reissued non-bailable warrant for the arrest of an employee of the Zarai Tarqiati Bank in a reference filed by the National Accountability Bureau, Sindh.

Muhammad Nawaz Ansari was charged with accumulating properties worth Rs5,010,963 by corruption. The matter was adjourned for July 16.

Meanwhile, the Accountability Court IV fixed July 25 for framing charges against a former SHO of the Ferozabad PS, who was being tried for allegedly taking bribes to release three accused.

The NAB filed a reference against him on July 17, 2006.

According to the reference, Inspector Shah Nawaz Khan received Rs4.5 million in bribe to release three accused — Najam Yousuf, Alam Farooq and Hasham — and further forced Najam to give him $70,000 more to end the case.

Inspector Shah Nawaz is in judicial custody while co-accused ASI Muhammad Ismail Lashari is at large.— PPI
