MULTAN, July 7: A judicial magistrate on Saturday remanded two doctors in police custody for three days a week after they were arrested on the charge of torturing their driver to death.

Multan Saddar police requested for custody of Dr Zakir and Dr Ataur Rehman, who are brothers, for the recovery of the hunter, screwdriver and metallic wire they had allegedly used to torture their driver Khadim Husain to death.

Khadim was killed on the night of June 29 at the residence of doctors at Jamilabad. The accused called his wife from Muzaffargarh and convinced her to deliver a statement before the magistrate the very next day that her husband had died a natural death which she did. However, a case was registered after the mother of Khadim appeared before the court and informed that her daughter-in-law was forced by the accused to deliver the statement in their favour.-APP
