Coach wants Harmison back in ODIs
LONDON, July 1: England cricket coach Peter Moores admitted he would welcome a change of heart from Steve Harmison if he reversed his decision to retire and boost England's options for One-day International cricket.
He took over at start of this summer knowing fast bowler Harmison had announced his retirement from ODIs in a bid to prolong his Test career.
But as Moores attempts to end years of failure in ODIs by developing a side capable of challenging in major tournaments, there is no doubt England would have chance of prospering if Harmison wore one-day strip again.
“Steve as one-day player has got huge talent because of pace he can bowl at and bounce he can create,” conceded Moores.
Harmison last played an ODI for England in last year's ICC Champions Trophy.
But Moores will hope change of regime may also bring about change of heart and boost England's one-day options. —Agencies
