Lawyers to start on-foot journey

DERA GHAZI KHAN, June 20: Four lawyers will start on-foot journey up to Multan on Thursday (today) to attend reception for the Chief Justice of Pakistan. Aqeel Ahmedani, Fahim Akbar, Aftab Baloch and Amjad Majeed Pathan had announced in a lawyers convention held here last week that they would travel to Multan on foot to welcome the CJP who was due on June 23.

They told Dawn on Wednesday that the purpose of their journey was to express solidarity with the CJP.

Meanwhile, sources said district police would not allow them to go to Multan and stop them on Ghazi Ghat Bridge.
