KARACHI: KESC denies carrying out load-shedding

By Our Staff Reporter

KARACHI, June 5: The KESC on Tuesday audaciously denied on oath carrying out any unannounced load-shedding.

A counter-affidavit filed on its behalf in reply to a petition in the Sindh High Court, however, said ‘major hospitals and water pumps’ were exempted from ‘discontinuance’ of power supply. The document was silent on the duration of and the reasons behind ‘discontinuance’. It did not say whether ‘discontinuance’ was prescheduled or pre-announced.

Justices Amir Hani Muslim and Munib Ahmed Khan, who constituted the bench hearing the petition, adjourned further proceedings to July 2. The KESC filed the affidavit in compliance of a court order in a petition moved by Syed Iqbal Kazmi.
