KARACHI, June 2: Brisk shipping activity was witnessed at the port where five ships carrying containers, diesel oil, and iron ore were allotted berths at QICT, Fotco terminal and IOCB, respectively, says a PQA press release.

Meanwhile, four more ships with container, chemicals, diesel oil and furnace oil arrived at the outer anchorage during the last 24 hours.

Berth occupancy remained at 60 per cent at the port where seven ships occupied berths to load, unload containers, edible oil, fertiliser, diesel oil and iron ore, respectively, during the report period.

A record cargo volume of 0.116 million tons comprising of 0.094 million tons imports and 0.022 million tons exports, inclusive of containerised cargo carried in 3,113 TEUs was handled at the port during the same period.

Two ships sailed out to the sea during the period under review.
