SAHIWAL, May 20: As many as 16 lawyers, who had joined the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), will tender their resignations from the party membership on Monday (today) in compliance with a resolution of the Sahiwal district bar association.

Reports said Citizen-Police Liaison Committee (CPLC) chairman N.A. Khan and his colleague Naveed Mushtaq Farishta had already quit the party.

About 16 lawyers, including Rana Muhammad Azam, will resign during a meeting of the district bar association on Monday.

They will also announce closure of MQM offices which they had opened in the city.
