KARACHI, May 8: Seven ships carrying general cargo, containers and to load cement and ethanol are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Wednesday, according to KPT sources.

Berthing activity at the wharves was modest as five ships, Nyzban, Athos-1 to unload and load containers, Battery Park, Olympic and Regent, tankers were berthed after the departure of as many.

The ships, which departed included Gallant Wave, Corin Thaikos, China Star, Al-Soor-2 and Sea Veteran, while Athos-1, Regent, Battery Park, Olympic, Tower Bridge, Ashraf-B and Iran Hesabi are due to sail out on Wednesday.

A total tonnage of 0.124m tons comprising 31,431 tons of export cargo and 92,448 tons of import tonnage was handled on Tuesday.

The following ships are due on Wednesday: M.Can Bey to load ethanol, Kota Hakim, Y.M. Fortune, Hyundai Highway and Al-Manakh with containers, Diamond Progress to load cement and Rickmers Chennai with steel cargo.
