ISLAMABAD, May 1: With the objective of providing a boost to the country's IT industry, the Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB) has organised a series of business networking events in London, Manchester and Leeds, UK.
"The PSEB anticipates fostering trade collaboration with British IT sector through participation in a number of networking events, tours, receptions and meetings with UK’s leading business professionals, chamber of commerce and top IT companies," a PSEB representative told Dawn on Tuesday.
PSEB was also sponsoring 12 of its member companies to attend this series of mini-events in the UK.
These companies included Softech Systems, Palmchip Pakistan, KalSoft, PrisLogix, Adam Soft International, Space Age Media, Imperial Soft, NC Inc, Avanza Solutions, Server4Sale and Voxel Communications.
The series of events, which would continue till May 4 in the UK, would set off with an evening reception of the Pakistani delegation by the High Commissioner, Dr Maliha Lodhi, at the High Commission of Pakistan.
"The other trade events in the UK will include a visit to the London Outsource World exhibition and a networking event organised by the Slough Borough Council inviting the leading ICT companies," he said.
According to a PSEB representative, Pakistan-Britain Trade Investment Forum also organised a networking event and reception at Asia House, London, in the presence of Dr Maliha Lodhi to facilitate networking of Pakistani and British IT companies.
In Leeds, PSEB and its member IT companies would attend a networking event arranged in partnership with International Leeds, Leeds City Council, Leeds Chamber of Commerce, ABDN and ATL.
The event would be sponsored by Lloyds TSB inviting the Lord Mayor of Leeds City Council, Mohammed Iqbal.
"The British series of mini events was a fantastic international networking opportunity and the participating Pakistani IT companies would make specific presentations to the invited guests to promote the country’s IT sector," said the PSEB representative.
