Raja Qureshi refuses to represent govt

KARACHI, April 20: Senior lawyer and former Advocate General of Sindh Raja Qureshi has refused to represent the government in the presidential reference against Chief Justice of Pakistan Mr Justice Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry.

“I am unable to persuade myself to appear before the Supreme Judicial Council before whom I had only marked one appearance and have continued to abstain the same,” he said in a statement received here on Friday. Mr Qureshi was one of the lawyers representing the government in the presidential reference against the CJ.
